NEET Cut Off: Qualifying Marks And Previous Years Cut Off
NEET is the medical entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the admission in various medical colleges across the country. The examination will be conducted in May 2020 for which the result and the cut off will be declared in the month of June 2020. The NEET cut off score is the minimum marks that are required by the candidate to qualify the NEET examination. Every year NEET releases the cut off which is based on several factors like the number of candidates appearing for the examination, the performance of the candidates in the entrance exam, cut off of the last year, the difficulty level of the paper etc. This year, according to the previous year’s trends, it has been noticed that there is an increase of 15 marks in the NEET cut off for each category.
- NTA will release the scorecard of the NEET 2020 Examination in the month of June 2020 which will have the NEET cut off score, the number of candidates appearing for the paper and the NEET cut off percentile.
- After the announcement of NEET 2020 Cut off, the students those who clear the cut off have to register themselves for the NEET 2020 Counselling which is expected to commence by the end of June 2020.
- Students must appear in the NEET examination for admission in various Undergraduate medical courses like MBBA, BDS, BAMS, etc.
- Students must give the NEET examination for the admission into the undergraduate courses in AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy).
- The merit list of the candidates will also be prepared according to this NEET Cut off score. NEET Merit List will now be used to allot seats in veterinary colleges for undergraduate courses like BVSc. and Animal Husbandry under 15% All India Quota.
NEET 2020 Cut Off – Expected Category Wise Cut off
NTA declare the NEET cut- off along with the NEET 2020 Result. NEET Cut Off is declared for candidates belonging to different categories, i.e., General, OBC, SC and ST.
NEET 2020 cut off for General category candidates is 50th percentile, while 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC category aspirants. The table below shows the expected NEET cut off score and cut off percentile for the year 2020 for different categories.

NEET 2020 Minimum Qualifying Percentile
NEET Cut off Percentile marks will be declared along with the NEET 2020 result with the scorecard at the end of June 2020. The percentile marks can be calculated by the following method:
- Suppose, a candidate has scored Rank x in the examination and the total number of candidates appearing in the entrance test is y.
- The formula to calculate the percentile will be: [(y-x)/y]*100.

NEET 2020 RESULT
The NEET 2020 result will be declared in the third week of June. The result will be declared online. The scorecard along with the cut off marks and cut off percentile will be made available to the students through the online mode only. No scorecard will be provided via offline mode.
NEET 2020 Rank List
Along with the declaration of the result, the All India Rank will also be declared in the scorecard. The rank list will be drawn on the basis of the marks scored in the NEET entrance test. The rank will be released online only.
Students will get admission in the various UG courses like MBBS and BDS in the top medical colleges of the country through this test. If students obtain the same marks in the NEET exam then the tie-breaking rule will be applied. The following method will be used for tie-breaking:
- The student securing higher marks in Biology will be given the top rank.
- The student securing higher marks in Chemistry will be given the top rank.
- A student with the lowest number of wrong question attempts in all subjects of NEET exam.
- If the tie continues, students older in age will be given priority.
NEET 2020 Counselling
After the declaration of the result of NEET 2020, Candidates can register themselves for the counselling round. They can participate in the counselling process according to the rank they score in the NEET 2020.
The NEET counselling for the 15% All India Quota seats will be organized by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and counselling for rest 85% state quota seats are regulated by the respective authority.
The counselling process will be conducted online and candidates can fill the choice of the colleges according to their rank list.
