NEET PG 2020 Counselling: Guidelines Issued for Admissions under Reserved Category

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) began the counselling process for State Quota seats under NEET PG 2020. The candidates who wish to take admissions in colleges under state quota through NEET PG 2020 Counselling can take part in admissions and counselling now.

As per the notice issued by MCC, the process of the NEET PG State Quota Counselling 2020 can be completed online which includes registration for counselling and allotment of seats. As per the latest notification released on MCC website, Round 1 of the state counselling is proposed to be completed by 4th May 2020.

A notification regarding the allotment of seats to students under the reserved category has been issued on the MCC website by DGHS. The official notification elaborates on the rules for allotment of seats to reserved category candidates under Round 1 of NEET PG 2020 Counselling.

NEET PG Guidelines Reserved Category

  • The candidates belonging to the EWS/SC/ST/OBC/PwD category who have been allotted seats under the UR Category in the NEET PG Counselling Round 1 2020 and such candidates who wish to opt for the UR seat and would not like participate under the EWS/SC/ST/OBC/PwD category in the upcoming counselling rounds are required to get their category changed from EWS/SC/ST/OBC/PwD to Unreserved at the college level. It must be noted that only the candidates who get their category changed will be considered as UR for further rounds of NEET-PG Counselling 2020.

  • Candidates who want to participate in the NEET PG Counselling 2020 for upcoming rounds under the EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PwD category and also wish to retain their seats under the above-mentioned category are required to produce their EWS/ST/SC/OBC/PwD Certificate in Round 1 only. In case the candidate is not able to produce the certificate, the seat allotted will be cancelled.
  • Candidates who are allotted a seat under their own category such as EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PwD (as filled in the form) are required to submit the Certificate during admission or else the seat allotted will be cancelled.

The state medical colleges are asked to complete the Round 1 of State Counselling by 4th May 2020. Round 1 of All India Quota NEET PG counselling 2020 has already completed and the students who have been allotted seats are asked to report to their respective allotted colleges online (or offline) by April 24, 2020. There has been a halt previously in NEET PG Counselling 2020 due to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the country-wide lockdown.
