NEET 2018 Exam Review and Previous Year Paper Analysis

NEET 2018 concluded successfully on May 06, 2018 (Sunday) from (10 am to 1 pm).  The exam was held in more than 132 cities and 2255 examination centers across the country. As per the general consensus among students, Chemistry was the easiest section. Physics was quite lengthy for many students while according to some others Botany had a few conceptual questions which were slightly tricky.

Candidates had to report at the exam centers by 09.30 am for security verification and completing other formalities. There was strict hecking across all the centers by authorities. Some candidates from Tamil Nadu had to travel adjacent states like Karnataka and Kerala to appear for the exam

NEET 2017 Physics Analysis

Physics was arguably the toughest section in the paper. Most students felt that the calculations for numerical questions were quite lengthy. Class XI had a greater share among the total number of questions. Mechanics, Modern Physics and Electrodynamics had the highest overall weightage in NEET 2017 Physics Section. Based on analysis by various Subject Matter Experts, around 37 questions were easy to moderate difficulty level while remaining 8 questions fall into difficulty level category.

NEET 2017 Chemistry Analysis

In contrast to Physics, the Chemistry section in NEET 2017 had a greater number of questions from Class XII curriculum. Many felt that Ingoranic Chemistry was given more emphasis rather than Organic if compare to previous editions. Candidates needed a thorough understanding of fundamentals as the majority of questions in Chemistry were conceptual in nature. While the class XI questions were fairly easy, questions from class XII curriculum were tricky and application based.

Biology Paper Analysis

Biology in NEET 2017 was much easier than both Physics and Chemistry. It offered some respite for students from the other comparatively lengthy sections. However, taking a glance at NEET Paper Analysis from last few years, the level of difficulty is constantly rising in NEET. It has the highest weightage with 90 questions (45 each from Botany and Zoology). Human Physiology and Plant Physiology are likely to carry the highest weightage in terms of number of questions. NCERT textbooks are more than sufficient to ace the Biology section.
