With multiple requests coming again from candidates appearing for NEET 2020, NTA has re-opened the NEET 2020 Correction Facility yet again. According to the official notice, the correction facility has been re-opened “in view of the hardships faced by aspirants of NEET-UG 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic.”
The NEET-UG 2020 Correction Facility has now finally been re-opened for the 4th time till 31st May 2020, which also signifies that the nation-wide lockdown will be extended for 2 more weeks. It is evident that during the third phase of lockdown or ‘Lockdown 3.0’, many candidates living in various other cities decided to leave for their hometown. There were reports mentioning students leaving Kota in buses arranged by various states.
Before this, NTA had re-opened and then further extended the NEET 2020 Correction Facility till 3rd May 2020. Students were under the impression that exams would be conducted by the end of May 2020 or during June 2020 and did not utilise this facility.
After the NEET Correction Facility was closed, HRD Minister, Mr Ramesh Pokhriyal announced that NEET-UG 2020 shall be conducted on 26th July 2020. With the dates being postponed for around 3 months, a lot of aspirants decided to shift to their hometowns. Due to this reason, the majority of students had requested to re-open the facility for one last time.
Choice of Exam Centre
The main purpose of re-opening the facility was to give this option to students. NTA has stated in the official notice that all efforts will be made to allot exam centres in the chosen preferred city by the candidate but this is subject to the availability of capacity. They have also mentioned that it might be possible that a different city from the ones preferred could be allotted due to administrative reasons.
The NEET 2020 Correction Facility shall be open till 31st May 2020 on the official website – www.ntaneet.nic.in. As observed in the previous facility, changes shall be accepted till 5 PM and the submission of the fee shall be accepted by 11.50 PM. Any changes that might require an additional fee will only be charged for. Payment can be made using Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, UPI or Online Wallets.
