NEET PG Rank 2018- Check Result Announced and Seats

NEET PG 2018 Rank, as well as marks obtained by the student in an examination, has been announced by NBE i.e. National Board of Examination. The rank will be decided as per the student’s result. It will only be awarded to those students who have qualified the exam by getting the marks equal to or more than the cut off marks.

Students who have successfully qualified the exam can participate in the counselling at India as well as state levels. The examination result will be declared on January 23, 2018, whereas, NEET PG 2018 Ranks will be announced on February 15, 2018. In the case, if the rank of two or more candidates is equal then the tie-breaking mechanism is followed.
Applicants can easily download their NEET PG 2018 rank card from the official website of NBE. Students will be assigned NEET PG 2018 Rank in descending order as per their scores in an exam. Students are advised to keep visiting the official website on regular basis to get the latest updates.

How to download NEET PG 2018 Rank Card?

The NEET PG 2018 Rank Card can be easily downloaded from the official website. It will not be sent individually to the candidates. For downloading the rank card, students have to enter their roll no, date of birth and captcha. The rank card also shows the total number of correct and incorrect responses given by the student in an examination.

Steps to download NEET PG 2018 Rank Card:

  • Visit the official website i.e. nbe.edu.in
  • Click on the NEET-PG button
  • Now, students will be redirected to another page
  • Click on the NEET PG -2018 Rank link under the General Links section
  • Enter the information such as Roll No, Date of Birth and Captcha
  • Click on the Login button

After clicking on the login button, the rank card will be displayed on the screen. Students can download and take the printout of the rank card for their future reference.


NEET PG 2018 Rank List and its types

Types of NEET PG 2018 Merit list prepared for admission to 50% All India Quota and State Quota seats is as follows:

All India NEET PG 2018 Rank

  • It displays the overall rank of the students who appeared and qualified the test.

All India 50% Quota Rank

  • It shows the overall merit rank of the students who appeared in NEET PG 2018 for 50% All India Quota Seats for MD/ MS/ PG Diploma and MDS courses.

All India 50% Category Rank

  • This merit list will be valid for the students who come under the reserved categories i.e. SC/ ST/ OBC in All India 50% quota.

State Quota/ Private Medical Colleges/ Deemed Universities/ AFMS Rank

  • Each state will release their separate merit list according to the marks secured by the candidate from their state in NEET PG 2018. As per the students rank in the state merit list, they will get admission to the respective State Government and Private colleges.

NEET PG 2018 Rank: Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more students will have the equal rank then for resolving the ties students have to follow inter-se merit procedure:

A number of Correct Response: Those having more number of correct responses will be ranked higher in the NEET PG 2018 merit list.

Scores of MBBS Professional Examination: If there is a still tie, then the students with an aggregate percentage of all MBBA Professional examination will be taken into consideration. Those having higher aggregate percentage will be ranked higher in the merit list.

Date of Birth: If the still exists then the older candidate will be ranked higher in the merit list than the younger one.  

NEET PG 2017 Merit List: 50% State Quota Seats/ AFMS Rank

Except for All India Quota Rank, other remaining 50% state quota seats will be allocated by the respective state counselling authority in government as well as private medical and dental colleges of the state. Every state government will release the state merit list using the marks secured in NEET PG 2018. According to the state eligibility criteria and reservation criteria, merit list for 50% state quota seats will be prepared.

NEET PG 2018 Cut off

Cut off marks are the minimum marks scored by the candidate in order to qualify the entrance test. Students scoring marks corresponding to the set percentile will be eligible to include in NEET PG 2018 merit list. Cut off will be decided on the basis of following factors such as:

  • Total number of students appearing in the exam
  • Availability of seats
  • The Difficulty level of the paper
  • Previous year cut off trends
  • Reservation norms.
