JIPMER 2018 Exam Pattern

JIPMER is a computer based test (CBT). The examination will be conducted on Sunday, 3rd JUNE, 2018. JIPMER 2018’s duration is 150 mins (2hr. 30 mins)

The online CBT exam has two shifts:
Morning Shift / First shift : 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Afternoon Shift / Second shift : 03:00 PM to 05:30 PM

JIPMER 2018 MBBS Entrance Examination will be held in English language only. JIPMER 2018 MBBS Entrance Examination is common to all and consists of 200 Single Best Response Type MCQs having four alternatives and the questions will be asked from the following subjects and the distribution of no. of question is as detailed below:

What’s new in JIPMER MBBS 2018?

As per the latest official JIPMER 2018 prospectus, various important changes have been introduced. These changes are in the section of eligibility criteria, pattern, application fees and exam centre. The changes are as given below:

  • JIPMER MBBS 2018 will introduce the concept of negative marking for the first time. A penalty of one mark is given for every incorrect answer. Also for the first tie-break, candidates with lower negative marks will be favoured.
  • Eligibility criteria for candidates have changed. Now onwards unreserved candidates should at least have 60% across Biology, Chemistry and Physics in 12th standard.  For reserved category students which include differently abled candidates, have a minimum requirement of 50% across above three subjects in 12th standard.
  • Fees have been increased, for Gen and OBC candidates it has increased from Rs. 1200 to Rs. 1500. While for SC/ST it is increased from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1200. While for NRI/OCI applicants, it has increased from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 3000.

What items can candidates carry inside the JIPMER MBBS 2018 exam hall?

Candidate should carry the Admit card of JIPMER 2018 along with any Govt. of India approved ID card (PAN Card is not acceptable)
