JIPMER Admission Procedure 2018- Check @

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) released the notification for its MBBS 2018 admissions on March 07, 2018. The exam will be conducted by JIPMER, Puducherry. The last date to submit applications is April 13, 2018. JIPMER MBBS 2018 test will be conducted for admissions to its Puducherry and Karaikal campuses. 150 seats will be offered at JIPMER Puducherry and 50 seats at JIPMER Karaikal. JIPMER MBBS Examination

JIPMER MBBS is a computer based test (CVBT) conducted for admission to JIPMER. The test is scheduled to be conducted on June 03, 2018 and must be attempted within the duration of 2.5 hours. JIPMER MBBS will be an objective multiple choice questions based test. The test will be based on the following pattern:

Candidates must secure qualifying marks as stated below in order to qualify for the counseling round:

  • Candidates will be awarded 4 marks for every correct question.
  • From 2018, JIPMER has introduced negative marking scheme where 1 mark will be deducted from every incorrect question.

JIPMER MBBS Application Fee

JIPMER MBBS application fee will vary according to categories and is tabulated below:

  • Application fee will be paid online through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.

JIPMER MBBS Counseling

JIPMER MBBS Counseling will be conducted in three rounds. Candidates qualifying the CBT will be eligible to register for counseling. The counseling will be conducted offline. Candidature of a qualified candidate will be canceled in case he/ she fails to report at the allotted date and time for the counselling process. Candidates who attend the first round of counseling and confirm their seat will not be eligible to appear for the second round. Candidates will be called for counseling separately at JIPMER Karaikal and JIPMER Puducherry campuses. For each eat available at least 10 candidates will be shortlisted in each category. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit list issued on the basis of JIPMER MBBS online test.

The exam conducting body, JIPMER Puducherry will release notification for the date, time and rank of the shortlisted candidates. Candidates must refer to the notice for counseling; they will not be informed separately about the counseling process.

JIPMER MBBS Counseling Process

JIPMER Counseling will be conducted in three phases:

  • Registration

Candidates whose names will appear in the merit list of JIPMER MBBS will have to report at the allotted venue at the given date and time. They must register with valid details at the counseling venue before the beginning of the counseling process.

  • Biometric Verification

On the day of counseling as soon as the candidates register for counseling at the venue they must appear for biometric and image verification. Candidates will be required to verify their finger prints and image before appearing for the counseling process. In the case of any discrepancy/ mismatch in biometric or photograph, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the counseling.

  • Document verification

Candidates must present all the necessary documents in original and copies of the document verification round after the seat confirmation.

JIPEMR MBBS Open Round counseling

The open round of JIPMER 2018 counseling will be conducted in case the seats remain vacant after three rounds of counseling. All the candidates whose names will appear in JIPMER MBBS merit list will be eligible to apply for the open round. Admissions will be further made as per the merit ranks.

Documents Required during JIPMER MBBS Counseling

Candidates must produce following documents in original as well as photocopies during the admission process:

  • JIPMER MBBS Admit Card
  • Class 10th certificate (Proof of Birth)/ Birth Certificate
  • Class 12th examination certificate
  • Character certificate from institute/ school last attended
  • Residence certificate
  • Caste certificate
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Medical certificate for PWD candidates
  • Six recent passport size photographs
